Very rare “Wizard Game” from the early years... - Lot 14 - Gros & Delettrez
Very rare “Wizard Game” from the early years of the Second Empire This very rare « Wizard Game », is contained in a wooden box painted in black and orange (20x9x3 inches). It includes a board made of three semi-circular pieces, a male character with a plastered hand-painted papier-maché head (minor paint loss on the tip of the nose), metal wire arms with painted wood lower arms, conic body sitting on a metal stick fixed on a wooden painted base, another wooden box filled with hand written cards meant to fit into the wooden card holders. A series of these cards bears the inscription of each year between 1849 and 1860. Two magnets move the wizard around his base so that he points to this or that spot by using magic sticks contained into a third box marked with the initials “P. B.”. Kept in nice condition, this game from the Second Empire seems complete.
