Édouard Henri LÉON (1873-1968) The Pont-Neuf and the Seine Oil on canvas Signed lower right and dated 39, located on the back. 46 x 66 cm Edouard Henri Léon studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts with Léon Bonnat, Gustave J. Jaquet and Eugène Gaujean. He exhibits at the Salon des Artistes Français and is decorated with the Légion d'honneur. Professor and recognized master in engraving, he opens the Edouard Léon workshop in Paris rue de Médéah. (rue du 14e arrondissement suppressed in 1980). He exhibits sketches in 1920 at Brooklyn society of etchers and Print makers society of California. In 1927, he exhibits at the Witte Memorial Museum in San Antonio, Texas.
