Circa 1950 Black vuittonite "marmot trunk" decorated with a label "French Line - Albert Bonte Marans CH. MAR", lozined edges, beech reinforcements, leather side handles, corners, clasps, black varnished gilt brass locks, side opening front, lid, interior with four coffee vulcanized fiber marmots. Dimensions: 73 x 51 x 88cm.Bibliography: The Compagnie Générale Transatlantique or Frenh Line is a French shipping company founded in 1855 and merged in 1975 to form the Compagnie Générale Maritime. The label is surmounted by the name of the liner "Ile de France", built in 1927, it was destroyed in 1959 in Osaka. At the end of the Second World War, she leaves on 21 April to undergo a modernization at the shipyards of Penhoët. The "Ile de France" sails again for New York on July 21st 1949.
