Securicode - Large Bottom 300 M. Circa 1963. N°631458. Graduation for dive times. 1st generation without date and crown protection. Rare automatic steel diver's model. Black dial with shiny steel sheet indexes, the large Magnum minute hand is attached to a disc which bears the depth graduation in Arabic numerals. 20/25/30/35... the time indication discreetly protrudes below the disc eliminating any confusion when diving. Mixed and luminescent index bezel. Automatic movement Cal base Felsa4000 Freq 18000 Alt/h. Special patented case with 3 bodies type "Clamshel", water-resistant screwed back, Rolex type Oyster crown at 3 o'clock. Reverse thread crown, unprotected. Heel glass. ZRC extensible bracelet. Works, good condition. Diam 35,5mm. Regarded as the holy grail for Diver collectors this RZC Securicode is the only one known to date. Only a period advertisement evoked its creation. Discovered about twenty years ago by a collector and then jealously preserved, this copy will be presented at auction for the first time in a very satisfactory condition. Atypical in the universe of the "Tool watches" this ZRC was hardly noticed in 1963. However the character of its patents had attracted the attention of the French Navy. Produced for only one year in 1963, the first series had very few Securicode versions. Awarded the gold medal at the 11th inventors' competition in Brussels, it was replaced by series 2 which benefited from a crown protection at 6 o'clock and a case of a totally different construction to meet the specifications of the French Navy. It is equipped with a direct reading function on the immersion time. It is necessary to position the depth on the bezel triangle at Midi: for example 35 meters corresponds to a diving time limited to 40 minutes. By the time the Magnum hand reaches the index, the diver will have completed the ascent stops.
