Wax case in chased and gilded brass decorated with ribbon friezes, the stamp engraved with the arms of David Maurice Joseph MATHIEU de SAINT MAURICE, Count of LA REDORTE (1768-1833). General of the Napoleonic armies, Count of the Empire in 1810, Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour and hereditary baron-pair in 1820, knight of Saint-Louis, etc. Participated in all the Empire's campaigns. Married with Honorée LEJEANS (daughter of Marie-Thérèse Catherine CLARY, half-sister of Julie and Désirée CLARY). Louis XVI style, Restoration period. Length. : 13cm A silver guilloché wax case decorated with waves, pastilles and two medallions is attached, the stamp engraved with a marquis' crown. After 1838 (shocks).
