After Michel MOLART (Dieppe, 1641-1713) Rectangular plate in chased and gilded bronze with bas-relief decoration of the profile of King Louis XIV in armour to the right. The Sun King is represented in all his splendeur : his helmet is crowned with the chariot of Apollo, on his armor the medallions of his ancestors Henri IV, Marie de Médicis Louis XIII, Anne of Austria and his wife Marie-Thérèse and the allegories of Justice and his military victories. 18th century (small hanging hole in the upper part) 10 x 6.5cm. Note : The original ivory was probably created before the Queen's death in 1683 (Victoria and Albert Museum). A bronze copy is kept at the Musée d'Ecouen and the Metropolitan Museum.
