Pierre BULLIARD. Flora Parisiensis, or Descriptions... - Lot 100 - Gros & Delettrez
Pierre BULLIARD. Flora Parisiensis, or Descriptions and figures of plants that grow around Paris, with the different names, classes, orders and genera that suit them arranged according to Mr. Linné's sexual method, their characteristic parts... following the botanical demonstrations that take place in the Jardin du Roy. Paris, Didot, 1776-1779, 4 volumes in-8 bound in full green morocco of the time, back with decorated nerves, golden slices, covers of preserved deliveries. In the end, it was added in manuscript and in ink, 106 pages forming the table of Latin terms. The book, published on laid paper, is illustrated with a title engraved in colour and 402 engravings from nature, coloured at the time. Volumes 5 and 6 published in 1779 and 1783 are not present here. Very beautiful copy despite the few brown, marginal spots in the fourth volume. Provenance : Manuscript bookplates of Father Benoît Buvry, on the title, then of Madame Pommereux Déforge, herbalist and midwife.
