[Holiday Book] Description of the Festivities given by the city of Paris, on the occasion of the Wedding of Madame Louise-Elisabeth of France, and Dom Philippe, Infant and Grand Admiral of Spain, on the twenty-ninth and thirtieth of August one thousand seven hundred and thirty-nine. In Paris, at Le Mercier's, 1740, large folio bound in full burgundy morocco to the arms of the City of Paris struck in the centre of the dishes with gilded framed castors and spandrels, ribbed back decorated with fleurdelysed boxes and gilded fillets, title piece, gilded edges, missing lower cap, blunt corners, a jaw split on 3cm and traces of restoration on the dishes. A holiday book to be offered for the wedding of Louise-Elisabeth of France, daughter of Louis XV, and Philippe de Bourbon, second son of Philippe V of Spain, with the mention in ink on the first dish, " 37. fêtes et mariages ". The book is illustrated with a title vignette with the arms of the city of Paris engraved by Soubeyran after Bouchardon, a wide band drawn and engraved by Rigaud, and 13 plates, including 8 leaflets, drawn by J.F. Blondel, Gabriel, Salley and Servandoni, and engraved by Blondel. Error in the numbering of the plates as very often, no plate 6 but 2 plates 8, without lack. Exemplary free of freckles. Original edition of this very beautiful holiday book.
